On Friday, 21 October the Nexus Club enjoyed a “Ragtags and Royals” (pirates and royalty) movie and board game night. With a movie double feature of The Princess Bride and Pirates of the Caribbean and plenty of snacks and spectacular costumes, it was a fitting farewell for several of the Year 12 students in the club. Once again, CGGS performed strongly at the Australian Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships (AIDPSC) and Speakfest. Students from across Australia compete in four categories (Debate, Impromptu Speaking, Persuasive or After Dinner Speaking and Interpretive Reading) in the AIDPSC and are awarded a combined score for their performances.
