Through teamwork, leadership and perseverance, our students demonstrated their remarkable strength and growth, emerging with a renewed sense of confidence and camaraderie.
The House: Women in Government, Politics, and Diplomacy
Thursday marked an exciting day for our students participating in The House: Women in Government, Politics, and Diplomacy co-curricular program. As part of their curriculum, they hosted a special assembly ahead of their Mock Election, where students shared their insights on democracy, the ACT Legislative Assembly and the Hare-Clark voting system. Each candidate had three minutes to present their platform and persuade their peers for votes. Following the assembly, the students, with support from the SRC, ran their first Mock Election while hosting a bake sale and the popular Democracy Sausage fundraiser to support Birthing Kits Australia. This initiative fostered leadership and civic engagement, inspiring the next generation of informed, passionate leaders.
