Student News Term 3 Week 4

A Journey Through Ancient Egypt

Our Year 10 Elective History students recently visited the National Museum of Australia to explore the Ancient Egypt exhibition. This visit is an important part of their current project, which involves designing a museum exhibition focused on life during the New Kingdom Period.

Sporting Triumphs

Our CGGS athletes continue to excel in their respective fields. Last Tuesday, our Years 7–8 Swans emerged victorious as ASC Netball 7–8 Division Champions, a remarkable achievement for our young sportswomen. Additionally, our Senior 11–12 Diamonds finished runner-up in the highly competitive 11–12 Division at the ASC Netball Championships. Well done to both teams!

Celebrating Literacy and Community Spirit

In anticipation of Book Week, Lior (Kindergarten) and Eloise (Year 2) represented CGGS at the Chief Minister's Reading Challenge awards ceremony and won in the Years 3–4 category! We are incredibly proud of their performance and appreciation for the written word at such a young age. Congratulations to these young readers and their teachers!

House Days at CGGS

The past week ended with beloved traditions that strengthen the close-knit bonds within our school community. Students in the Junior School celebrated Mackellar House Day by dressing in vibrant orange, enjoying a festive sausage sizzle, and participating in team-building activities. At the Senior School, Kilburn House successfully led a Red Nose Charity Drive, raising funds for Red Nose Day—a cause that is dear to our hearts.
