Aarna's Karate triumph

We are delighted to share that Aarna (Year 7) has achieved remarkable success in karate. Her dedication and hard work have led to outstanding performances in both local and interstate tournaments. Most recently, she participated in the Central Coast Tournament and the Victorian Championships in Melbourne, where she clinched several medals. These include a gold in her division for Kata in Melbourne, a silver in the Central Coast, a bronze for team Kata, and two bronzes in Kumite. Aarna has also been excelling in cricket, earning recognition for Best Batsman, Best Bowler, and the Spirit of the Game from Eastlake Cricket Club. Aarna is now preparing for a training and competition tour to Japan in December.

Georgia (Year 5), Jocelyn (Year 6), and Madison (Year 7) represented CGGS at the SSA Swimming Championships on the Gold Coast recently. We eagerly await their results, knowing that their hard work and dedication will surely bring them success.

Write A Book In A Day (WABIAD)

Twelve teams from CGGS participated in the Write A Book In A Day (WABIAD) challenge. Students spent a day in the library crafting and illustrating books inspired by randomly generated prompts. This event showcased our students' creativity and teamwork and supported a worthy cause by raising funds for the Kid’s Cancer Project. The books will soon be available in the CGGS Library and we look forward to reading their stories!

Burgmann House Fundraiser for Jeans for Genes

For the annual Burgmann House fundraiser for Jeans for Genes, students organised a vibrant market stall event filled with plenty of denim (obviously) treats and items for sale. This fundraiser highlighted the compassionate spirit of our community, raising awareness and funds for genetic research. We are delighted to see our students connecting with the community beyond the school borders and making a further positive impact.
