Congratulations to Madison (Y7) who won the 12 years and under Leadership Category Award and Chloe (Y12) who won the 13 years and over Achievement Category Award at the ACT School Sport Awards. Georgia (Y5) was one of four finalists for the 12 years and under Achievement Category Award.
For our International Women's Day celebrations, the Senior Council hosted a thought-provoking IWD assembly in the Senior School Hall yesterday. Joined by Grammarians Jaala Hinchcliffe (Class of 1992) and Carol Mead (CGGS graduate), our guests and our student leaders reflected on UN Women Australia's IWD theme for 2024, 'Count Her In: Invest in Women. Accelerate Progress', and the important progress that has been made but the significant obstacles still faced in achieving equal participation.
Several CGGS Junior and Senior School students also attended the UN Women ACT Branch's IWD lunch last week, where they had the opportunity to hear from women leaders and changemakers who are working to re-shape systems and remove barriers so that all women and girls can unlock their potential.
A special thank you to Jaala and Carol for joining us, and to our Senior Council for another magnificent and empowering IWD assembly.
