Myrah (Y4) recently met with Dr Marisa Paterson MLA and presented a paper titled A Better Future for All: Education for First Nations and Disadvantaged Kids. Dr Paterson was impressed with Myrah's passion and efforts, and following the presentation Myrah gave Dr Paterson a painting which she had made during the School holidays. Myrah has made several canvasses for an exhibition she plans on hosting, with all proceeds from the exhibition going towards charities that support education for First Nations and disadvantaged children.
Congratulations to Aditi (Y12) who is among 95 Year 11 and 12 students from around Australia who will be attending the 29th National Schools Constitutional Convention. The aim of the program is to provide senior students with an opportunity to become better informed about how Australia’s Constitution provides a democratic framework and encourages them to take an active interest in the operation of government.

Recently several Year 12 English students visited the Junior School and read books to the Year 1 students. It was wonderful to see the connections made between our oldest and youngest learners, and for a number of Year 12 students to recount memories from their time as a Junior School student.
At the Years 5–6 Netball Gala Day CGGS had three teams compete, with the CGGS Red team going undefeated in competitive pool play. As a result, they were invited to play in the ACT Finals Day in April. CGGS Yellow were also undefeated in their exhibition competition.
Several students recently represented CGGS at the Independent Primary School Heads of Australia (IPSHA) Swimming Carnival at Sydney Olympic Park. Our students finished with a number of ribbons, and the Senior Girls team won their 4 x 50m Freestyle heat.
