Rowing results

This past weekend at the Head of the River our Senior School rowing team paddled their way to glory, securing an amazing haul of four gold medals, three silver medals and two bronze medals.

Their dedication brought them to a fantastic second place in the medal tally, just one gold medal behind first place. They also proudly took home trophies for the School Girl Coxed Quad and the Year 10 Div 1 Coxed Quad.

School Sport ACT Excellence in Sports Awards

Congratulations to our CGGS finalists at the School Sport ACT Excellence in Sports Awards.

Georgia (Year 6) was a finalist in Achievement and All Rounder, Jocelyn (Year 7) in Leadership, and Memphis (Year 7) in Sportsmanship. Special congratulations to Georgia for receiving the All-Rounder Award and Memphis for receiving the Sportsmanship Award!

These accomplishments are a true testament to each student’s commitment to excellence and leadership. This recognition also reflects our School's ongoing commitment to fostering excellence, resilience and personal growth in our students, supporting them in both their sporting endeavours and overall development.

Girls with Grit Program

Year 5 students participated in a five-session sailing course with the Canberra Yacht Club this month. These sessions allowed students to gain new skills and to challenge themselves, all while under the guidance of Australian Sailing certified coaches.

Touch Football

CGGS Touch Football students showed determination at the School Sport ACT Southside Gala Day. The Years 11/12 team and Years 9/10 team were both runners up, while the Year 7/8 team were semi-finalists.

Independent Girls Schools Association (IGSA) Swimming Carnival

Ten CGGS students travelled to Sydney on Friday to participate in the IGSA Swimming Carnival at Sydney Olympic Park. Well done to our swimmers who showcased dedication and teamwork!
