Students from the Junior School were awarded first place at the ACT Primary School Girls Chess Championship, held at Rosary Primary in Watson. Congratulations to all students involved!
World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships
At the World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships (WIDPSC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Ridhima secured third place overall and was the top Australian competitor.
Ridhima’s incredible achievement comes after making the semi-finals in the Interpretive Reading, After-Dinner Speaking and Impromptu Speaking categories. Grace (Y10) joined Ridhima in the semi-finals of the Impromptu Speaking category.

Yale International Relations Leadership Institute
Congratulations to Year 11 student Ivy, who has been accepted to attend the Yale International Relations Leadership Institute in June. What a wonderful opportunity!
South Weston Swimming results
The South Weston Swimming results are in, and CGGS Junior School students had an outstanding meet.
Our swimmers earned a total of 21 ribbons, including 10 first-place finishes, five second-place, and six third-place ribbons. An incredible effort from all involved!
We’re also excited to share that 12 CGGS students have qualified for the SSACT 12&U Swimming Championships on 6 May. This is the highest number of qualifiers from any South Weston school.
To top it all off, CGGS won the overall combined event point score with a total of 807 points, finishing 99 points ahead of Marist College Canberra in second place.
In more wonderful news, Cadence (Year 10) has qualified for the Australian Age Swimming Championships which will be held in Brisbane next week.
Cadence has qualified for the 50m/100m/200m breaststroke for the 15 years age group in an impressive feat that is testament to her hard work and training over the past 12 months.
Hockey Australia National U16 championships
Captained by CGGS student Annie (Y10), the U16 ACT girls state team finished in sixth place at the Hockey
