Throughout our 100-year history, generations of children and young women have been empowered to engage with diverse perspectives, hone their rhetorical skills and have their say on issues that matter to them. Leensaa, Muntaha and Ingrid (Y12) had one such opportunity recently when they attended the TedXYouth@Canberra Open Mic event. The girls have been shortlisted as potential speakers for the TedXYouth event in August, and had the chance to pitch their ideas for selection.
Our Junior School students competed at the ACT Girls Primary Schools Chess Championship recently, winning the tournament and featuring the four highest scoring students.
At the ACT Schools Netball Gala Day, the Years 5-6 team went undefeated and were crowned the ACT Years 5-6 School Netball Champions.
Recently our Senior School students and staff collected 888 sanitary products for Share the Dignity, a women's charity in Australia that works to make a real difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness, fleeing domestic violence, or doing it tough. This year the products will be delivered to Communities@Work in Tuggeranong and Canberra Health Services in the City.
