Recently, Emily (Y10) competed at the ACT Track Cycling Championships. She podiumed in all six of her races, scoring a 1st, three 2nds and two 3rds. She was crowned 2nd overall in her age division for both the endurance day and sprint day events. Emily was the only U17 woman to podium in every race.
Over the school holidays, Aheli (Y5) donated her hair, which she had grown her entire life, to make wigs for alopecia areata and cancer patients.
Maya (Y11) was successful in achieving her ATCL Diploma for Clarinet, an advanced performance award that is equivalent in standard to the first year recital of an undergraduate degree.
Jorja (Y5) travelled to Italy over the School holidays to compete in several skiing competitions.
Serina (Y12) and Emily (Y11) will be competing in the World Individual Debating and Public Speaking Championships in Durban in March.
Sophia (Y12) and Muntaha (Y11) received an invitation from the Australian Mathematics Trust to sit the Australian Mathematical Olympiad (AMO). The AMO is a two-day Olympiad-level contest comprising of four questions each day. Only 200 students are invited to participate in this event from Australia and New Zealand each year. The contest is used to select students to attend the Australian Mathematical Olympiad Committee’s Selection School.
Liv (Y7) hiked Tasmania's South Coast Track in January. She and her father flew to Melaleuca from Hobart in a light plane, and walked along the spectacular coast unassisted for 90 kilometres over eight days.
