There are five Olympiad exams (junior science, physics, chemistry, biology and earth and environmental) that students compete in, for a place in the Science Olympiads Summer School at the ANU. The International Chemistry Quiz provides students the opportunity to test their understanding of chemistry in an exciting and stimulating way. All students who participated in the competitions are commended for their efforts and achievement. Congratulations to Arya, Hannah, Trisha, Isabella (Y10) Sophia, Serina, Alexis (Y11), Bella and Emma (Y12) who earned High Distinctions in their exams, placing them in the top 10% of those examined.

The International Chemistry Quiz provides students the opportunity to test their understanding of chemistry in an exciting and stimulating way. It promotes critical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving. Students gain an understanding that what they learn at school can be applied outside regular school lessons, even in an international framework.

Recently, our Adelaide Avenue Jazz Band performed with the Kapooka Army Band and Riverina Conservatorium of Music in Wagga. It was an invaluable experience for our students who had the opportunity to play alongside a group of talented musicians.

Representing the ACT, our Junior School students competed against other teams from across Australia and New Zealand in a series of complex problem-solving challenges that incorporated elements of the Arts. At the conclusion of their challenges, the CGGS team were crowned International Champions! Congratulations to our ToMs Arts team on this amazing achievement.
