Economics teacher Winifred Hanson attended The Women in Economics Network (WEN) Annual General Meeting recently, where the many events held in 2022 to promote pathways for women in Economics were outlined including University Mentoring Programs, the Junior and Mid-Career Retreat, and the registration of 25 high school students who joined WEN for the first time in 2022. Winifred is a member of WEN and works to promote opportunities and events for girls studying Economics.
We were thrilled to learn recently that our Year 2 Teaching team of Renee Muller, Shelley Salzke and Tom O'Rourke were awarded the ACEL ACT Trish Wilks Award for Collaborative Practice, which recognises a teaching team that displays exemplary teaching methods through collaboration. This is worthy recognition for our Year 2 team, who through their combined efforts have contributed significantly to the learning experience of our students. Well done Renee, Shelley and Tom!
Congratulations to Junior School PE and Sport teacher Louise Burrows, who was recently inducted into the University of Canberra’s (UC) Sport Walk of Fame. Louise has had a long career as a national rugby union player, having represented Australia and the Brumbies Super W team for over a decade. You can find the full article on Louise's induction here.
