The CGGS Rowing team have had a spectacular finish to the Rowing Nationals in Perth.
The girls won a silver medal in the School Girl Quad, finished sixth in the U17 8+ and fifth in the Open Double. Every CGGS boat made the A final, showcasing the dedication and hardworking of the entire Rowing team. We were also pleased to see Grammarians Taylor Caudle (2015) and Catherine Khan (2016) finish first in the Open Double, highlighting the path our rowers can follow after graduating from CGGS.
The CGGS Rowing program is one of our strongest co-curricular offerings. Our rowers are offered opportunities to compete at the highest levels of School Girl rowing, and are provided with elite coaching and training to support their athletic pursuits. Congratulations on your outstanding results, girls!
A special thank you to Ms Caroline Pijpers (Head of Rowing) who made the long journey from Canberra to Perth by road to ensure our boats arrived safely at the competition, and Ms Tamara Phelps (Head of Sport) and the CGGS Rowing coaches for accompanying the team.
