Beginning of Prep

Tears, tissues and long drawn out goodbyes could be seen in the Prep courtyard over the past two weeks. Not from our new students, though, it was mums and dads, as they left their precious children with us, beginning their journey at CGGS for the next 13 years. Our Prep students have quickly become independent, hanging blazers, unpacking their bags and placing their diary, water bottle and fruit snacks in the baskets and tubs.

Our Prep teachers have been thrilled with the students and their transition into the Junior School. Embracing the excitement of specialist lessons and navigating around the school, our Preps have been focused on the learner profile attributes of being principled and brave risk-takers. There is a buzz of excitement as you walk through their classrooms listening to the chat about things that start with the letter ‘s’ or ‘t’ and fostering their love of reading and writing. Embracing every opportunity to play and create, the students have been engaging in hands on learning through their lovely classroom environments. Our Preps have had a brilliant start to their year of wonder and learning.
