Something I’ve always loved in schools is that buzz of energy and industry in those precious hours around formal lesson times. In the early hours, it may be those dew-lined footprints tracing a path from locker to music rehearsal, or the stampede to sport training of an afternoon, students tumbling out from buildings, juggling schoolbags and assorted rackets and sticks. It has always made me happy to see students engaging in opportunities to grow and learn from their experiences beyond the classroom, and as our co-curricular programs gather momentum for the year, it’s wonderful to see our students signing up, and stepping up. Our Director of Co-curriculum, Mr Joel Copland, and our co-curricular leaders are always happy to assist you with any queries you may have in relation to opportunities for your child, so please get in touch if we can be of assistance to you.
Thank you to all families who have expressed interest in our Bus Trial routes for Term 1. We’re finalising offers and will be in touch with families to confirm seats or waiting list status shortly. Moving forward and expecting to expand our trial, the School is looking into increasing the team of school bus drivers. We have advertised for drivers holding Medium Rigid licenses to support this program, and would appreciate the community’s assistance in sharing this opportunity with anyone they know who may be interested. There is the potential to be involved for some shifts, if the entire week is not a possibility.
Finally, we look forward to welcoming our first Year 8 to 12 students into the Evening Study Program (ESP) on Monday evening. The ESP allows students to complete homework and assessment preparation in a supervised environment in the Senior School Library, with dinner served at the Boarding House, in the Boarders’ Dining Room. Mrs Skye Tyler is excited to be leading this program in 2022, and helping students develop healthy study habits.
